To remember that very step?

That day when … running was no longer suffering …
That day when … I went to the other side … the one from where you don’t want to come back…
That day when… I became a runner…

I do not remember.

I do not know when it was.
I do not know what run it was.
I do not know what step it was.
I do not know where it was.
I would like to remember that place.
I would like to remember that kilometer, that meter.
I would like to remember that day.
That very moment.
That very step.

That very passage.
Between the “me” of before and the “me” of after.
From behind to forward.
That very step, the step between the suffering of before, and that of after.
So different.
The step between the desire of before and the pleasure of after.
I wish I could remember that step.

The one that changed everything.

But when I took it, I did not know it was the one.
Not yet.
That it was THE step.
And that it will remain one of the most important of a life.
Among millions of others.
Unique.
Solitary.
Anonymous.
Humble.
Fundamental.
Free.
Eternal.
That very step.
