Glasgow was one of the hearts of the Industrial Revolution. Bathed by the River Clyde, it has retained its working-class soul while modernizing. Classic Victorian architecture rubs shoulders with more modern districts and buildings, some of them boldly architectural.
Of course, you won't miss St. Mungo's Cathedral, which has dominated the city since the 12th century. The only Scottish cathedral to survive the destruction of the Reformation, it is the oldest building in the city.
You'll also cross a few bridges with different structures, and enjoy a variety of views over the city, which is a delight to explore in running shoes.
